Feeling a little uneasy about using this linseed oil that I ordered. Is it normal for it to be so yellow?

I wish artists would understand that oil paint is a yellowing medium. There is no such thing as a non-yellowing oil paint or medium. Some oils are less yellow (lighter colored) and may yellow less but they do yellow and these oils dry slower and may form weaker films. The key is to use the least amount of oil in your painting and when you need to preserve white highlights or delicate blue hues use a lighter colored oil. But it does not make any sense to use a lighter colored oils with dark oil colors. Use less oil and you will not experience more yellowing.
