I would like to ask about “Solvent Free” alkyds. Are they truely solvent-free? Or is there a % of alkyd solvents below a threshold that can be considered ‘solvent free’? Gamblin had released it’s SFGel, MGraham Alkyd mediums, W&N Griffin paints, etc. A question on M.Graham’s ‘Guarantee of no toxicity in their paints or mediums’ came up for discussion in the Facebook Group. This is posted on their website.

To answer this question accurately, we need to consider what “solvent free” means in commercial use. I will prepare an article on the Natural Pigments website, as well as here, to provide the correct answer.
