<p>I know what you&#8217;re trying to do in exploring oils and in my experience, letting it dry is the best approach to &#8220;isolate&#8221; as you say.  On a dry piece you can apply VERY thin glazes to alter a color.  You can add an object without ruining what &#8216;s already there.  If you don&#8217;t like, just wipe it away. To be more drastic you can sand&hellip;</p>

Watercolor is easily lifted when brushing over with more color or water. This makes glazing difficult and building up color depth nearly impossible. With Lac Water Varnish, you can fix the paint on paper and do multiple passes  of paint.&hellip;</p>

All shows including museums require D rings. </p>
<p>On my larger pieces that have considerable weight I use a French Cleat. These are harder to come by and I had them custom made by Charles Hannesly shop.</p>
<p>I have no recommendation for non framed works.</p>

I&#8217;m not doing frames, and thus far the ones I&#8217;ve weighed are between 0-10lbs. I&#8217;m seeing d-rings and coated wire on YT. Any thoughts?</p>

Nice additions could be a small&hellip;</p>

At best, it does provide a golttery gold-like surface.</p>

I am painting the applique with white &amp; want the gold in the recesses. Would the Gold Pearlescent pigment work for this? What medium would be the best? My original plan was to use glazing medium found in paint department/stores. The glazes I have seen aren&#8217;t very metallic&hellip;</p>

The Titanium Zinc would definitely be a deal breaker for me.  I saw a lovely painting in a museum wherein the artist used a titanium zinc white,  all the light passages are cracking even tho it&#8217;s a fairly recent work.  So sad.</p>

They state &#8220;titnaium zinc.&#8221; Artefex is a company in California that makes ACM panels, and their grounds, whether on ACM or canvas-mounted ACM, consist of Rublev Colours Lead Alkyd Ground.</p>
